...also asked if I would bring my mom and sit at the table with her family. I accepted without asking my mom, who was unable to attend. I don't know that my mom ever met Mrs. Groussman/Valle despite all the years I spent hanging out with Dan and Adam and I was really looking forward to lunch with everyone. Instead I asked Sayeh if she would like to go...I was hesitant after the week we just spent....arguing about time and responsibility oh, and then there was her arriving home at 1am without a phone call all evening to tell us who, what, where and when we might expect to see her. At least when I was her age, I called and told my parents I as at the Groussman's. Anyway, I was surprised both by how much I enjoyed spending the day with Sayeh and that I learned some interesting facts at the conference.
The opening and closing keynotes were excellent. Dr. Marilyn Gaston (left) and Dian Thomas, who almost lost me with her accolades to BYU, but I hung in there and she was fantastic!I learned the most about digestion. I learned that women's digestion is really different from a man's digestion... that estrogen and progesterone really effect digestion AND abdominal surgery (like 2 c-sections) play a role in a woman's body and digestion. Most interesting, my body...my whole functioning body did not recover from giving birth to Arian. Hmmm maybe I can blame more than just the lack of sleep since he was born.

I am also motivated to take care of some health issues and exercise...Sayeh and I even talked about a family triathlon. Maybe someday. If each of us could only participate in one event...I would do the biking, Sia could swim and Sayeh could run...we might have a shot at training and completing a triathlon. Somehow I don't think it works that way.
I must thank Sia and Setareh for staying with a fussy feverish baby boy and giving Sayeh and I a lovely day together and focus on our health.
