Sweet Persimmon - Sweet Setareh

Siamak and Sayeh brought some persimmon's home from California...finally ripe, we ate one over the weekend. They are sooo sweet almost like jam. I didn't know they have large seeds inside, kind of like big watermelon seeds.

Of course, Siamak the gardener asked us to save the seeds for him to see if he could grow a persimmon tree. We had several seeds and

Setareh said, "Oh good if you have 2 they can mate!"

After some controlled laughter, I praised her knowledge of the "birds and the bees"

Setareh said, "...the butterflies help pollinate too." My Setareh is sweeter than any ripe persimmon.
