Saturday was not only for football but Sayeh and Sahar each got a turn for visitors. Both girls had visits from Sierra Vista high school days.Sahar graduated from Buena High School in 1999 and I recall Tara and Becky as Sahar's 2 best friends from that era . Tara is now married and living in Orem - I don't know what happened to Becky. Tara came to see Sahar on Saturday. I was not too keen about letting her or her husband in the house because they both showed up wearing BYU blue. Despite the blue it seems Tara has grown up. I have some not too fond memories of Tara and Sahar and their adolescence . How do you miss a school bus on a field trip that is driving you 3 hours back to home? Sahar and Tara managed to be left at the Renaissance Festival in Apache Junction, AZ. They signed in and then got off the bus to go do something - when the adult with them realized they were not on the bus they were already in Tucson. The school secretary called us and Sia and I had to drive 3 hours to go pick them up.
Another lovely memory I have involved a 2am drive to Sonoita while Sia was out of town and Tara had manipulated me to lie to her mother. I honostly could have cared less that they had gone to some party in the middle of the desert - I thought they should have gone - I was furious that Tara had asked me to talk to her mother to reassure her that the girls would be going to Denny's and then spending the night at our house. Despite those 2 memories of her adolescent years that stand out for me...it seems Tara has found a nice young man, seems happy and content. Siamak really cares for Tara and I think she has always needed that - I am glad to see she has grown into a fine young woman.

Axandra and Sayeh were very close friends at Buena. It was great that Axandra, and her family came by to see Sayeh and all of us. Axandra spent a great deal of time at our house and Sayeh at theirs during the Sierra Vista high school days. Both Axandra and Sayeh moved away for Jr. and Sr. years of high school. Axandra seemed the same: sweet, polite, and headed in the right direction. It was great to see her.
During this holiday weekend it was nice that we all got to see old friends and family from years past and far away. I am Thankful.
