The Persian Hour invited the
SLC Mayor to come to chat, drink tea and eat some pastries. What a down to earth intelligent man, the Mayor is. I am not writing his name
because then when he is googled my blog will show up - I'm not too interested in that happening. Anyway, the Mayor talked about democracy dwindling in the U.S. and the damage of media
moguls with the lack of balanced reporting these days.
Soheila asked if he would talk about who he was planning to vote for in 2008. I was happy to hear he liked Gov.
Richardson too. The Mayor said he wants to work with grass roots organizations to make a difference in our democracy and most
important for him is to work on global warming when his term expires next month ....so...I invited him be on the Water Wise Utah Advisory Board - he agreed. I really enjoyed the lovely conversation in such a relaxed environment. I think it shows great leadership to take the time to sit and chat with ordinary citizens.
