Sex and the City in Suburbia

Mila organized a fantastic Girls Night Out to see Sex and the City. Donning our Volvo station wagons, mini vans, Starbucks lattes, very best heels and purses there were 10 of us "girls" who went to see Sex and the City last night. I had very low expectations and it turned out that I loved this movie. First of all...Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte so remind me of Lisa, Felice, Jenny and Daniella. Well, Daniella and Charlotte are synonymous (sometimes I can't even remember Charlotte's name because only Daniella comes to mind) and Lisa, Fe and Jenny are a bit of all 4 of the Sex and the City characters rolled into each other. We will all be 40 in the next year or so but if you knew us in college or our 20's I think anyone would have been shocked to know that Daniella was 1st to get married and Felice the last. Jenny has been been married twice and I never had a boyfriend before my last year of college but have been with Siamak longer than any of the girls. We have all been to Mexico together and I have been back to New York on several occasions (not nearly enough) to visit the girls and missed them terribly last night. So, I do have to give the film 2 thumbs up. I love how real all of the characters are, including the men, although I don' t know how men can love this movie in the way that women can. There are some lines in the film about working mother's, worry about happiness, girl friends, closets and shoes that I just don't think a man can understand. It was also fun to sit with Barrie and listen to Peter's band, Morningwood, play during the runway scene. Kudos Pedro!
