I wanted to participate in the special day on the blog. My job is fun, busy and quite focused on saving water - Water Wise Utah. With my work I learn some sad facts exist: population is on the rise and so the demand on water. Another really sad fact - the Wasatch front should be landscaped like the desert it sits in - but instead it is rich with green lush lawns. The outdoor water waste is hurting our future. Because of our thirst - new water must be developed and I am afraid and saddened for my children. The mountains, the snow, the lakes and rivers that I love will look very different in 30 and 50 years. Rivers will be damned and the sparse wilderness that exists today will be changed forever.
