When Sayeh was Setareh's age we often traveled to Foster City to see her Auntie Sepideh, Momman Poorijoon and the whole Fatemi clan. Sayeh used to love to take day trips into China Town in, "Sana Frana Frisco." - I still call it that when the Khadjenoury's go on vacation to the Bay Area.

When I was in Grad School I learned a lot about being politically correct and if you live in the Bay Area you Never say "San Fran" "Frisco" or "SF" - You say, San Francisco. In

1995 I have a very vivid memory of two escaped convicts who were caught on the Berkeley campus because when the police asked them where they were from they said, "Frisco" - oops!
Anyway, we had a lovely vacation last week to the Bay Area, Foster City to be exact. We watched the nephews play their favorite sports, ate, drank tea, at

e, drank more tea, then had more pastries, more incredible pomegranates, I think we ate again, we slept and ate some more. I have mentioned that Sepideh and Feridoon are these amazing hosts but every time we go to their house I am in awe. Classic Sepideh is a casual remark about 5pm (as we are arising from a nap) that some of Feridoon's family may stop by in a few minutes to say hello. In America/my family, that means, I'll put out some chips and salsa and we'll schmooz over a beer or a glass of wine for an h

our and that will be lovely. In Fatemi Land that means, In about 45 minutes 10-15 people will stop by, dressed and we will drink tea and eat pastries, drink a glass of wine, eat a big meal, drink tea and more yummy dessert and hang out until late - It is unbelievable. It is so nice but for those 2 people who read this and are Americans it is unbelievable.
Day light savings is catching up with me- must sleep. I will post the pictures tomorrow - nablopomo - is a bit rough on me. Oh We had a blast at the Pumpkin Patch too in between meals, tea and a party!
