It was 15 years ago that Siamak sat in my Reading Class at Rivendell Residential Treatment Center and asked me to go to the movies. I thought he was interesting, good at his job and very nice and rather handsome. I thought he was nice but didn't think he was at all interested in me. We spent the summer (August officially)of 1993 falling for each other. We went to a Ska concert at Salt Air, Jurassic Park, Heber Hot Springs (I had forgotten all about that until last weekend), bike riding, Crompton's, The Pie (and been told to "get a room"), BBQ's at my house, hot tub and BBQ's at his house and just lots and lots of good times together.A year later Sia moved to Phoenix, a year after that I moved to Berkeley, a year after that Sia moved back to SLC, a year after that I moved back to SLC, that year Sia basically moved to Sierra Vista and year after that Sahar and I moved to Sierra Vista too. Can you say...Long Distance Relationship! During all those years apart...we grew closer and closer and in August of 1998 we were together living in a trailer (don't knock it till you've tried it) in Hereford, AZ and finally... sitting at the Outside Inn in Sierra Vista we decided it was time to get married. We were waiting for just the right time to tell everyone and have work settle down (ha, ha, ha, ha) to set a date.
Sedona, AZ May 28, 2000 we were married (well sort of...the officiant forgot to have us sign papers to make it legal so we weren't officially legal until some time the next day or so).
So it is truly ironic and classic of our relationship that Sia is in Sierra Vista today and I am in SLC. Happy 8 years of marriage and 15 years of being together (sort of).
