Sun Valley August 2008

Last Friday the family piled into Lynn and Bruce's 7 passenger Acura (purchased for just such an occasion) and we all drove to Sun Valley for a mini vacation! Sun Valley is a special place for me. I have wonderful memories of cousins, biking, and playing in the little streams at Aunt Jenny's condo. I am thrilled that my children are beginning to have those same wonderful memories.

The first activity was dinner at Trudy and Irv's beautiful art museum. Their taste and their art are so fantastic that it can only rivaled by their hospitality! It was relaxing just to be with everyone in such a wonderful setting. We slept at Aunt Jenny's condo in order to avoid asthma issues induced by the sweet but super allergen dogs.

Aunt Jenny: While her own and there could be no other -doted on my children in a way that gave my children a little of my Aunt Clara and Grandma Sonia to them. Aunt Jenny made us pancakes and helped us find bikes and helmets and all the necessities in her garage - (another museum) and helped us on our way to an amazing bike ride.

We rode from Sun Valley, Idaho to Hailey, Idaho (Google Map it) on the something Woods Path! When I say we I include, Setareh the amazing girl! Setareh rode her own bike the whole way (12 miles!!!) Sia and I with Arian in the chair behind rode all the way back to Sun Valley. I am thinking some 25 miles round trip(we won't talk about the added mileage from my bad decision to stay on the trail on ride behind Ketchum...we rode past Sun Valley, had to back track, go up a few hills...oops) but that wasn't enough. We dropped off the bikes back at the condo and walked to the pool for some more fun and exercise! It was a blast! Later, we all got together again for dinner in Ketchum which was also perfect. The next morning brunch, shopping and splashing with some fresh rice crispy treats made by Aunt Jenny we were home by 7:30pm. Short but absolutely perfect!
